COUGARS TRAVEL TO CHATTAHOOCHEE TECH TO OPEN SEASON
The Cleveland State Cougar basketball team will travel to Smyrna, Georgia for their season opener this Saturday, November 3, as open the 2012-2013 season. They will be taking on the Chattahoochee Tech Eagles in the Smyrna Recreation Center. Game time is set for 7 PM.
The Cougars will rely on the leadership of sophomore point guard Travis Jones (Chattanooga, TN). He and Jameico McPherson (Freeport, Bahamas) are the only returners from last year's squad. Ralph Eason (Huntsville, AL) is a sophomore transfer who will be counted on for leadership.
Freshmen expected to make impacts this year include posts Trey Suttles (Chattanooga, TN), Kahan Swift (Jackson, TN), and Xavier Okoro (Lawrenceville, GA). Guard help will come from Filipe Goncalves (Franca, Brazil), Tre Everette (Lawrenceville, GA), Timothy Triplett (Memphis, TN), and Gabe Dando (Maryville, TN). Maurice Armistead (Lawrenceville, GA) and Dantario Dansby (Nashville, TN) are expected to join the squad at the semester break.
The Cougars will open their home schedule on Tuesday, November 6, when they take on the junior varsity squad from Lee University. Game time then will be 5 PM.
