COUGARS OPEN WITH 84-74 CONFERENCE WIN AGAINST SALUQUIS
Cleveland State stay undefeated on the young season as they were able to hold off the Saluquis of Southwest Tennessee by an 84-74 final. It moved the Cougars to 3-0 (1-0 TCCAA) on the season.
The men used their hustle and hard work to build a 35-33 lead at halftime. The game stayed close for the first part of the second half before the Cougars began to slowly build a lead. With time running out, the Cougars made important stops, and made some great hustle baskets to secure the win.
It was Ralph Eason to lead the squad in scoring tonight. He finished with 23 points which included an 11 of 12 performance at the charity stripe. Eason also finished with eight rebounds and four assists. Trey Suttles had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds as well as three steals. Travis Jones would finish with 13 points and five assists. Tre Everette finished with eleven points off the bench.
The Cougars also outrebounded their much taller visitors by a 46-33 margin.
