LADY COUGARS WIN AT GEORGIA NORTHWESTERN 80-57
ROME, GA - The Lady Cougars were able to end their two-game losing streak Tuesday evening as they defeated the Lady Cats of Georgia Northwestern Technical College 80-57 at Shorter University.
Both teams struggled out of the gate, but Cleveland State went on a quick run midway through the first half to build a 14-point lead, 33-19, b the end of the first half. Scoring was spread out among nine different Lady Cougars in the first half as everyone saw action in the first twenty minutes.
The second half was much of the same as the Lady Cougars continued to build on their lead. Cleveland State finished the game connecting on 42.1% of their shots from the field. They also hit 30 of 40 shots from the free throw line.
Five players reached double digits in the victory led by 15 points from Hannah Brown. She also grabbed five rebounds and had two steals. Cierra Anderson finished with 12 points. Jara Gasper had 11 points with three assists and three rebounds.
Robyn Anthony and Chelsea Jones each finished with ten points. Anthony led the team with four assists while Jones led the team with eight rebounds.
