LADY COUGARS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT 81-49 OVER MONTREAT JV
Cleveland State used a 16-0 run midway through the first half to pull away from the junior varsity squad from Montreat College on their way to an 81-44 win. It was the Lady Cougars' fourth win in a row, which puts them at 9-5 going into the holiday break.
With the score 16-13 in favor of the Lady Cougars, they would reel off 16 straight points on their vistors. They would finish the first half of play with a comfortable 44-26 lead. They were able to hit from all spots on the floor as they connected on 52.9% of their shots in the first 20 minutes. For the game they would connect on 32 of 63 shots for a 50.8% clip.
Leading the way for the ladies was Jara Gasper. She finished with 21 points as well as five rebounds. She was 6 of 10 from the field (4 of 5 from 3-point range), and 5 of 6 at the charity stripe. Shea Nunn would be the only other Lady Cougars in double digits as she tallied 12 points. Her and Carley Fetzer led the team with six rebounds apiece.
