LADY COUGARS DROP CONFERENCE OPENER 74-59
The Lady Cougars couldn't overcome a poor shooting performance as they dropped their conference opener at hom against the Lady Saluquis of Southwest Tennessee 74-59.
The ladies manage to shoot only 29 percent from the field compared to 49 percent from their visitors. They were down as many as 23 points in the second half, but a fury of three-point baskets made the finish interesting.
Mercedes Owens led the games in scoring with 13 points on 4 of 9 shooting from the behind the three point arc. Cierra Anderson was right behind with 12 points and eight rebounds. Robyn Anthony rounded out double digit scoring with ten points.
