The Cougars are undefeated at home, but lost earlier this week at Chattanooga State (3-0, 1-0). SW Tennessee defeated Volunteer State in their conference opener. The Saluqis only loss this year came in their only road game. The Cougars come in averaging 66.3 points per game on the season while SW Tennessee averages 70.2. Cleveland State's leading scorer is Derriona Salter with 15.7 points per game. The Cougars are well rounded offensively with five players scoring in double figures. Latisha Parris is the team's leading rebounder helping her to average a double-double with 12 points and 10.3 boards per game. Parris is fourth in rebounding in the conference. Deziya McClendon is the high scorer for the Saluqis with 12.8 ppg. She is the only SW Tennessee player averaging double figures in scoring. It was a tale of two halves in the conference opener for the Cougars. Cleveland State (2-1, 0-1) led 20-15 after the first quarter and went into halftime down three. Chattanooga State (3-0, 1-0) outscored the Cougars by 14 in the third quarter and held on to secure the victory in the fourth, 81-62.

Women's Cougars Basketball Participating in JUCO Jamboree

Cleveland State women's basketball will see their first action of the 2023-2024 season tomorrow. The Cougars are participating in the JUCO Jamboree at Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA. They play Itawamba Community College at 2:30 p.m. and East Mississippi at 4:20 p.m.
