Head Golf Coach Caleb Evans Leaving Cleveland State on a High Note
Head Golf Coach Caleb Evans has decided the timing is right to move his golf career in a more centered direction and has resigned his position at Cleveland State. A renowned Golf Professional in his own right, Coach Evans will continue using his golf expertise in service to the public in the local Chattanooga area with Bear Trace Golf Course in Harrison TN serving as his home base.
Evans recently led the Cougar Golf team to a first place finish at the Alice Lloyd College Eagle Invitational played at his former home course, Nob North in Cohutta GA. In the 2021-2022 season Coach Evans coached Cleveland State to a top 15 finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
Cleveland State Athletics Director Mike Policastro said: "I along with the entire Cleveland State family want to thank Coach Evans for the time and effort he committed during his five years here at Cleveland State. Caleb has continued to grow the golf program in a very positive direction and we wish him the very best."
A search will begin immediately for the Head Coach Golf position.
