CSCC Baseball Players… Casteel and Hammontree Earn All-TCCAA Honors
Head Baseball Coach/Athletics Director, Mike Policastro is pleased to announce that Freshman Cooper Casteel was named to the 2023 All-TCCAA first team as a starting pitcher and Sophomore Rhett Hammontree earned Shortstop honors on the 2023 All-TCCAA second team.
Casteel a 6'0 left-handed pitcher from Bradley High School started 13 games for the Cougars winning six with a strikeout statistic of 11.03 per nine innings. He pitched a total of 63.2 innings in being one of only two starting pitchers earning first team conference honors.
With a .346 batting average, an On Base Percentage of .406, four homeruns and 22 RBI's the 6'1 Rhett Hammontree from Dalton High School was one of two shortstops earning conference honors. He led the Cougars in hits with 53 and tied for the lead in doubles with nine. Defensively Hammontree had a .953 fielding percentage on the season in 47 games on 170 total chances. Easily placing him as the elite fielder of the conference.
