Two CSCC Cougars Named to TCCAA Baseball All - Conference Teams
Cleveland State sophomore pitchers Bryce Jenkins and Bryce Houghton have been selected to the Second Team All-Conference Team by the TCCAA as was announced at the TCCAA Post Season Tournament in Chattanooga.
Bryce Jenkins (Knoxville, Tn Hardin Valley HS) was named as a starting pitcher after going 4-3 for the Cougars in 2022, in his 13 starts he led the pitching staff in strikeouts with 93. The redshirt sophomore will commit to the University of Tennessee. He won 11 games during his career with the Cougars, striking out 171 batters in 26 career starts. He graduated this spring with an Associate of Science degree.
Bryce Houghton (Dalton Ga, Dalton HS) just completed his sophomore season with the Cougars. Houghton was the Cougars closer the past two seasons. This year, Houghton led the conference with 10 saves, he had 24 appearances with a 2.22 earned run average. In his 24 appearances, he struck out 31 and had an opponent's batting average of 148. Houghton is a Lipscomb University commit and graduated with an Associate of Science degree.
Cleveland State Coach Mike Policastro commented, "I'm happy for both Bryce and Bryce being named to the All-Conference team. Both had good years for us and were major contributors to our program both on the field and off. We will definitely miss them as both are awesome young men."
