FORMER COUGAR DARRION LESLIE NAMED NAIA ALL-AMERICAN
Former Cleveland State basketball player Darrion Leslie was named to the NAIA All-American 2nd team. He earns 2nd team honors for the second straight season, making one of four Pikeville players to accomplish that fete.
Leslie was Pikeville's third leading scorer this year at 13.5 points a game. He also averaged 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists while connecting on 60.6% of his shots from the field. He tallied only the second triple-double in program history in November and was named Co-Mid South Conference Player of the Year at the end of the regular season.
Darrion finished 42 points short of 1,000 points and 21 rebounds short of 500 for his time at Pikeville. He ranked fifth in the NAIA for his shooting percentage and 31st in total rebounds.
While at Cleveland State, he totaled 815 points with 407 rebounds, and was a starter in all 51 games as a Cougar. He was also named to the All TCCAA team both years.
