Baseball split a series 1-1 with Piedmont College's JV team on Tuesday.
In the first game, the Cougars won 2-0. SP Seth Wicker threw five innings of three hit, six strikeout, shutout ball to earn the W and CL Brock Browning gave up no hits in 2.0 IP paired with two strikeouts to record the save. C Kendall Catlett (0-for-2) walked in a run with the bases loaded and Lance Dockery, who was 3-for-3 in the game, scored on an error for the other run.
In the second game, the Cougars fell 10-3 to the Lions. C Alex Coulter was 2-for-2 with two RBI. 3B Rhett Baldwin, SS Andrew Carpenter, and RF Reid Nelson all each had a hit a piece.
Cleveland State will travel to Columbia, Tenn. to face the Chargers of Columbia State on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game starts at 3:00 ET and Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1:00 ET.
