COUGARS TAKE EARLY LEAD; HOLD OFF CENTRAL GEORGIA
The Cougars kept their winning ways going Tuesday night as they held off a late rally by Central Georgia to win 81-75. Cleveland used a hustle defense to slowly build a double digit lead in the first half, and held a 20 point advantage on their visitors with 11:27 to play in the game.
The Titans came roaring back in a big way as they cut into the lead. the Cougars struggled offensively in the final five minutes as they went all of it without a made field goal. They were helped by some solid free throw shooting in holding off the Titans.
Cleveland placed four scorers in double figures led by Elijah Weems, who finished with 21 points. Weems would also finish with six rebounds. Cam Copeland was next with twelve points while brothers Jordan and Tevin Olison each finished with ten.
Victor Curry, although hampered with foul trouble, led the team with three assists. Romero Hill led the team with four steals and Jordan Williams led the squad with 11 rebounds.
