CLEVELAND STATE COMPETES IN OWN INVITATIONAL
The Cleveland State golf team hosted their own invitational at Nob North Golf Course in Varnell (GA) this Monday and Tuesday. The team placed two teams in the siteen team field. The first team finished in sixth place while the second team finished in 15th place. The field consisted of teams from NJCAA, NAIA< and NCAA Division II & III teams.
The first team finished with a three round aggregate of +63 (301-312-314-935). Seth Moore posted the low score for the team with a +12 (75-75-78-228) which was good for 15th place. Tripp Hall finished in 25th place with a three round total of 15 over par (70-80-81-231). Carson Minish finished in a tie for 36th place as he carded a 19 over par (76-80-79-235) showing. Joseph Sadler walso in the tie for 36th at +19 (82-77-76-235). Isaac Lambert finished 36 over par (80-89-83-252) which was good for 76th place.
The second team finished their three rounds at 116 over par (323-319-338-980). Ethan Johansen was low scorer for the team with a 24 over par (80-81-79-240) showing which had him finish in 48th place. Gray Loftin finished in 60th place with a 30 over par (81-78-87-246) outing. Cooper Lemons and Jaxon Chapman both finished in 68th place with 31 over par scores. Lemons went 81-82-84-247 while Chapman went 81-78-88-247 for their three rounds. Joey Ruffin finished at +55 (89-90-92-271) which was good for 86th place.
The golf team will host the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament in their next outing. The tournament is schedule to take place on April 20 at the Champions Club in Ooltewah (TN).
