LADY COUGARS HOLD ON FOR IMPORTANT CONFERENCE WIN OVER MOTLOW
The Lady Cougars ued a solid defenive effort and timely scoring in securing their second conference win of the year as they defeated Motlow State 56-49. The ladies shared the load as five players had at least eight points in the win.
The ladies would hold a nine point advantage at the end of the first quarter before Motlow ould pull within two at the half. The Cougars would put distance between their opponents as they outscored them 20-9 in the third quaarter. Motlow would close the gap in the fourth, but players made key scores down the stretch to maintain the lead.
Kennedy Bket and Mar'Nazha Houston eaach had ten points in the game. Ziara Thompson would finish with nine points whlle Sloan Pender aned Macies Collins each had eight in the contest.
Baker and Houston match their ten points with ten rebounds for a double-double. Pender would have seven rebounds while Thompson and Collins each finished with five in the game.
Kayla Lopez and Pender each would lead with five assists while Damoni Kpana followed with four in the contest. Thompson and Baker each would have three steals while Houston finished with two on the night.
