COUGARS FALL TO CENTRAL GEORGIA IN SEASON OPENER 74-65
The Cleveland State men's basketball team fell in their season opener on Friday evening as they lost to Central Georgia Tech by a 74-65 final. The Cougars had a 33-25 lead after the first twenty minutes, but were outscored 49-32 in the seond half.
In the first twenty minutes, Cleveland maintained the lead for most of the half on 43.5% shooting from the field as they connected on 10 of 23 shots from the field. They would cool off in the second half as they connected on only 30.4% of their shots while their guests were 61.3% from the field.
Brandon Lanier led the Cougars with 11 points and a team high 12 rebounds. Xavier Washington as the only other Cougar to reach double digits with ten points in the contest. Kedrick Franklin would come off the bench to score eight points an dpull down eight rebounds.
Seneca Robinson would have six assists in the game. Lanier and Pahrez Nicholaseach would have four steals while Lanier would have three blocks on the day.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, November 4, versus Tennessee Wesleyan. The game will be at home with a start time of 7:30pm EST.
