COUGARS STRUGGLE IN SECOND HALF; DROP GAME TO ROANE STATE
The men's basketball team struggled in the second half on Wednesday evening, and dropped a 70-59 loss to Roane State. With the loss, the Cougars' overall record dropped to 10-13, and they fell to 6-11 in conference play.
The team looked prime to upset the Raiders as they rushed out to a 34-22 lead in the first half. But, coming out from the locker room, they managed only two ponts in the first ten minutes of the second half where they saw thir hosts overcome their deficit and build their own double digit lead for the win.
The Cougars managed only two scorers in double figures led by Kedrick Franklin with 14 points. Xavier Washington was next with ten points. A.J. Horton managed to score nine points in the loss.
Franklin recorded a double-double as he led the team with ten rebounds. Brandon Lanier was next with seven boards while Pharez Nicholas claimed six rebounds.
Seneca Robinson had four ssists in the game while Franklin and Jacob Turner had two steals in the contest.
The Cougars return home for a conference matchup this Saturday against Southwest Tennessee. Game time is set 4pm EST.
