COUGARS TAKE ROAD WIN AT DYERSBURG
The men's basketball team traveled to Dyersburg for a makeup game on Monday. They ere able to pull away late in the second half to pull out a 71-63 win. The win gives the teeam q 9-11 overall record with a 5-9 conference record.
The team held a slim 29-28 lead at the break, but outscored their opponents 42-35 in the second twenty minutes.
The Cougars placed three scorers in double figures led by A.J. Horton with 15 points. Pharez Nicholas came off the bench to add 12 points while Brandon Lanier finished the contest with 10 points.
Lanier led the team with seven rebounds as they outrebounded the Eagles 40-27 in the game. Horton and Kedrick Franklin both added six rebounds.
Lanier and Ryan Neal each had three assists while Nicholas led with three steals followed by Jacob Turner with two on the day.
The Cougars hit the road for a league matchup with Motlow State before returning home on Saturaday to welcome Volunteer State in another crucial conference game.
