JACKSON, Tenn. – Cleveland State Community College baseball picked up wins in Games 2 and 3 of its conference series against Jackson State Community College on Saturday, earning victories of 6–3 and 14–2 at Jack Martin Field. The Cougars had already won Game 1 on Friday, giving Cleveland State three straight wins in the series and improving to 20–7 overall and 13–2 in conference play.
Game 2: Cleveland State 6, Jackson State 3
Cleveland State used power at the plate and a strong pitching performance to secure a 6–3 win in Game 2 of the series.
Nelson McKnight powered the Cougar offense, finishing 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Jaxon Humble added a home run of his own and drove in two runs, while Evan Leonard collected two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
The Cougars received contributions throughout the lineup as Jon Jon Read doubled and scored a run, Kwade Carver reached base twice via walk and added a hit, and Hank Adams, Riley Mahan, and Nate Severance each helped keep pressure on the Jaguar defense.
On the mound, Braden Suggs earned the win after working 5.2 innings, allowing three runs while striking out 10. Evan Cope recorded the final out of the sixth inning, and Torrey Robinson closed the game with a scoreless seventh to earn the save.
Game 3: Cleveland State 14, Jackson State 2
The Cougar offense erupted in Game 3, scoring 14 runs on 13 hits to complete the Saturday sweep.
Evan Leonard delivered a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBIs, and four runs scored. Nolan Sergeant added two hits and an RBI, while Nate Severance finished with two hits, two RBIs, and a stolen base.
Additional run production came from Hunter McDonald, Kwade Carver, and Owen Phillips, while Jon Jon Read, Riley Mahan, and Jordan Smith contributed key at-bats as the Cougars drew five walks and consistently applied offensive pressure.
On the hill, Parker Coe was in control, throwing six innings, allowing just two runs on four hits, and striking out nine to earn the win.
Following the day, head coach Aaron Bryant highlighted the team's consistency and focus.
"I was proud of how our guys competed throughout the day," Bryant said. "We had contributions up and down the lineup and our pitchers did a great job attacking the zone. That's the kind of complete effort we're looking for as we move deeper into conference play."

Cleveland State returns home Tuesday for a matchup against Motlow State, before hosting Volunteer State in a conference series next weekend at Cougar Field.
