COUGARS SWEEP ROANE STATE FOR CONFERENCE WIN
Cougar volleyball went on the road Tuesday night to face Roane State in an important conference matchup. They were able to win a sluggish contest as they defeated the Raiders 3-0. Scores for the three sets were 25-19, 25-20, and 25-22.
In the first two sets, the Cougars were able to grab the lead and maintain it throughout both sets. In the third set, they built a big lead, but their hosts came back to tie the set at 14. The score stayed close until the closing minutes. With the set tied at 22, the Cougars reeled off three straight points for the victory.
Aaliyah Rodgers again led the team with ten kills. She also had 14 digs in the match. Zowee Dillard was next with seven kills while Elanee Cotter had six on the night. Piper Bowers had 24 assists to go with 11 digs and two service aces.
Isabella Messer had 19 digs to go with three service aces. Megan Crocker matched Messer with three ace as well.
The Cougars' overall record now stand at 7-0 with a 2-0 conference record.
Next up will be a home conference matchup on Friday verrsus Dyersburg State. Match time is set for 5pm EST.
