COUGAR VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The Cougar volleyball team fell in the championship game of the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Volleyball Tournament by a 3-1 score to Pellissippi State. The team still advances to the Southeast District where they will face Davieson-Davie Community College, Region X champion. The match will be played at Pellissippi State with game time still to be determined.
The Panthers would win the first two sets 25-21 & 25-17 bfore the Cougars would win the third set 25-19. In the final set, Pellissippi would never trail as they scored the final six points for a 25-19 win.
Zowee dillard led the way with 17 kills followed by Aaliyah Rodgers with 13 in the match. Elanee Cotter would finish with seven kills. Piper Bowers led the way with 44 assists. Bowers also had two service aces in the contest.
Rodgers would lead the team with 22 digs. She was followed by Isabella Messer with 20 followed by Bowers and Dillard with 14 each. Megan Crocker also had ten on the day. Kennedy Caudill and Rodgers each had a solo block and three assissts in the match. Carloine Church finished with a block and two assists.
