COUGAR VOLLEYBALL CONTINUES HOT STREAK; DEFEATS PELLISSIPPI IN FOUR SETS
The Cougar volleyball squad made the trek up I-75 for a road conference matchup against Pellissippi State. The outcome was another win for the squad as they beat the Panthers in four sets 3-1. That makes the team's overall record 11-0 and an important 5-0 in conference play.
Cleveland took the first set of the match by a 25-19 score, but the Panthers tied the match by wining the second set 25-21. The third set was a tight one with Cleveland pulling it out 25-22 before clinching the win as they won the fourth set 25-18.
Aaliyah Rodgers once again led the team with 17 kills on a .333 kill percentage. She also had three service aces, 10 digs, and six total blocks in the contest. Zowee Dillard was next with ten kilss while Caroline Church had seven. Kennedy Caudill and Elanee Cotter each finished with six kills.
Piper Bowers led the way with 39 assists in the math with a service ace. Saylor Clark had two service aces and Dillard had one on the night.
Isabella Messer led the team with 21 digs. Clark was next with 12 while Bowers matched Rodgers with ten.
Up next for the Cougars is a matchup with the defending Region VII champion Walters State. The match is set for Tuesday, September 30, at 6pm EST.
