The Cougar volleyball team continued their streak to start the season as they defeated Dyersburg State Friday night in a 3-0 sweep. The scoresss of the three sets were 25-9. 25-5, and 25-13. This brings the squad's record to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the TCCAA.
The Cougars had a .369 kill percentage as they had 44 kills as a team. Zowee Dillard had nine kills to lead the team, followed by Elanee Cotter who eight in the match. Aaliyh Rodgers and Kennedy Caudill each had seven in the win as every member of the squad saw action in the contest.
Piper Bowers led the team with 16 assists and Brooklyn Mathis had 11 on the night. MeganCrocker had five service aces on the night while Isabella Messer had two.
Messer led the team with 12 digs while Cotter and Saylor Clark each had eight, and Bowers finished with seven.
The Cougars turn right around and will face Jackson State this afternoon. Match time is set for 2pm EST.
