VOLLEYBALL MAKES IT 12 IN A ROW; DEFEATS WALTERS IN STRAIGHT SETS
Cougar volleyball made it a perfect first half of the season by defeating Walters State in straight sets Tuesday night. Scores for the three sets were 25-18, 25-22, & 25-23. The Cougars overall record now stands at 12-0 with a conference record of 6-0.
All three sets were competitive as the first set saw two lead changes with six ties before Cleveland finished strong at the end. The second set saw only three ties with one lead change as the Cougars maintained the advantage through most of the set. The third set saw Cleveland come back late as their were nine ties with three lead changes in the set.
Aaliyah Rodgers led the team with 17 kills. She was followed by Kennedy Caudill with eight. Zowee Dillard and Elanee Cotter both finished with six on the night. Piper Bowers led the way with 32 assists and four service aces.
Isabella Messer finished with 27 digs to lead the way while Bowers and Dillard followed with 12 and 10 digs. Caudill finished with two total blocks in the cotest.
