COUGAR VOLLEYBALL ADVANCES TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
The volleyball team advanced to the chapionship game of the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Volleyball tournament. That was the good new of the day, but the great news was for the first time this season, Head Coach Peyton McDaniel was on the sidelines as she surprised her team Thursday night at the hotel after being deployed in Iraq for the past six months.
What was a very competitive match saw the Cougars win in three sets over the Senators of Walters State. The scores of the three sets were 25-20, 25-15, & 25-19.
Zowee Dillard led the team with 16 kills. She also reached double figures with 12 kills. Aaliyah Rodgers was next with 11 kills and 12 digs as well. Elanee Cotter reached double figures with 10 kills. Piper Bowers led the team with 40 assists and 14 digs.
Rodgers had three aces while Caroline Church finished with two in the match. Isabella Messer led the way with 23 digs while Megan Crocker followed with eleven. Rodgers had three block assists while Kennedy Caudill had a solo block and two block assists. Church was also credited with two block assists.
