VOLLEYBALL CLINCHES #1 SEED; DEFEATS ROANE STATE 3-0
Cougar volleyball achieved a first as they defeated the Raiders of Roane State 3-0. with the win, the Cougars secured their first ever #1 seed for the upcoming TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament at the end of the month. All three sets werre competitive as the scores were 25-21, 25-18, & 25-16.
The squad found themselves doewn early in the first two sets before charging ahead midway through each set. The third set saw them jump out and held a solid lead. They would close the win out for their 17th win of the season. Their overall record now stands at 17-1 with a conference record of 10-0.
Zowee Dillard led the team with 16 kills on 26 attacks for a .389 kill percentage. She also had 12 digs and one service ace. Kennedy Caudill, Elanee Cotter, Caroline Church followed with five, four, and three kills. Caudill would also have four block assists on the night.
Brooklyn Mathis would lead wwith 18 assists while Piper Bowers had 13 in the match. Bowers would also have two block assists.
Isabella Messer would lead the team with 21 digs, and Megan Crocker would finish with eight as well as a service ace.
The team will be back in action on Thursday night when they host Pellissippi State at 6pm EST.
